About SC Gardens
Firewise Community
In 2020, a group of SC Gardens homeowners took the initiative to form SC Gardens Firewise Steering Committee with the support of the Cal Fire District 1. The common intention that brought us together was the desire to exercise our responsibility as neighbors at a deeper level than is usually available.
We all wanted to learn more about the risk of wildfire in our neighborhood, how we can mitigate the risk of fire, and what are its key challenges.
Finally, we wanted to be a recognized Firewise Community by Firewise USA® and offer recommendations for possible fire risk reduction. We are not fire experts, but through the process, we attempt to bring fresh thinking to the dialogue through a multi-year Fire Safe Action Plan that we wish to implement in SC Gardens.
September 30th, 2021 SC Gardens was recognized as a Firewise Community USA by Firewise USA.
We also proudly received from Central Fire District 1 a certificate of appreciation for our effort to help make our neighborhood fire safe.

Our Mission
The purpose of SC Gardens Firewise Community by Firewise USA is to educate and mobilize residents of SC Gardens to protect our neighborhood, homes, and environment from wildfire and ember fire.

Our vision is to inspire, educate and enable neighbors to protect lives, property and our beautiful green community from wildfire.
